Dear friends:
In 1992, we formed The Sheldon Development Company to develop projects that would help retailers thrive and succeed. We were quite successful in our efforts.
Ten years later, in 2002, we felt the desire to chart a new direction. Development for development's sake wasn't as fulfilling as it had been. We wanted to build a company that would enable us to make a mark—to create a legacy with retailers, stakeholders and communities.
We envisioned a company full of purpose-driven, passion-filled people who make a positive difference and challenge the “old ways” of enterprise real estate solutions. We wanted to begin to transform the industry to produce value never thought possible for the stakeholders of our endeavors.
So we changed our name to Salvo Real Estate Solutions. Why Salvo—what does it mean? We hear that question a lot. A "salvo" is a sudden outburst, a concentrated attack. To us, "Salvo" stands for power, innovation and focus. We're the challenger, and we're working to accomplish two key goals:
- To make a positive and lasting mark
- To transform the retail development industry to create better results for everyone involved
Our philosophy, technology, systems and processes are helping us attain these goals.
Salvo's goal is to leave a positive mark with each person, each project and each community. We measure our ultimate success not in how many hard corners we develop, but in the results these developments create for retail customers, communities, development associates and shareholders. The relationships we nurture, how we operate, our approach to design, architecture and landscaping—all of these actions create a cumulative mark.
Salvo looks for ways to transform how the retail development industry works, challenge the norm and make a difference. We're just beginning. We invite you to make your mark with Salvo and to join us in creating a lasting legacy.
